Welcome to the Water Quality Contour Mapping System, Sponsored by EPC

Contour Map Sample Image Contour mapping is one of the best ways to visualize the spatial differences in bay water quality. Unfortunately, the software and technical expertise required to generate contour maps is too frequently out of reach for most environmental resource managers and scientists. Funded by a grant from the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County's Pollution Recovery Fund, the Water Atlas Program staff developed online tools to make the generation of these maps more accessible. This system provides two options: 1) to view maps generated using only data collected by the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County; or 2) to generate your own maps using all data available on the Water Atlas.

By making this technology accessible to you, we realize we are also making it easier to generate inaccurate or misleading contour maps. However, we believe the misuse of data cannot be prevented by restricting who has access to advanced spatial analysis tools. Only you can prevent the misuse of data.

We require you to enter your name and email below for two reasons: 1) to make it clear that we will not be held liable for data misuse; 2) so that you can generate your own maps; and 3) so that we can gain a general understanding of the user community. We will never share this information outside the Water Atlas Program.
