Dollars Flow Into Lake Seminole

Pinellas County Commissioners expressed frustration July 27 over continued spending to keep Lake Seminole up to required standards. At the end of the day, the commissioners had approved action on lake projects totaling more than $30 million. Penny for Pinellas dollars, as well as federal and state funding and money from the Southwest Florida Water Management District will pay for the projects.

The commissioners unanimously approved an $800,000 grant agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to be used toward the estimated construction costs of $2.56 million for two regional alum stormwater treatment facilities within sub basins 2 and 7 of the Lake Seminole Watershed....
