Land Use Regulations to be Revised--Public Input Sought
Pinellas County is beginning a process to update its land development regulations that will result in a Quality Communities Code. This updated code will address such topics as walkable/livable communities, zoning, parking, sidewalks, stormwater, the natural environment and energy efficiency. The intent of the Quality Communities Code is to preserve and improve the quality of life in unincorporated Pinellas County and its neighborhoods.
The community will have many opportunities to participate in this process that will culminate in the spring of 2012. As a first major step, the county will hold three community meetings to solicit ideas about how to plan for and achieve a quality Pinellas County community. (See Water Atlas calendar for times/locations.)
There will be a presentation at each meeting (the same information will be presented at each meeting), as well as an opportunity to ask questions, meet with planning staff, view displays and fill out a survey. ..
