Precautionary boil water notice issued for some north Pinellas residents

Last evening’s water main leak at McMullen Booth Road just north of the railroad tracks near northeast Coachman Road has been repaired. However, Pinellas County has issued a precautionary boil water notice for select residents in the area. Those impacted are in the area south of Sunset Point Road, east of U.S. 19, north of State Road 590 and west of McMullen Booth Road. Only customers of Pinellas County Utilities are affected. This does not include homes and businesses that receive their water from the city of Clearwater.

Pinellas County will continue collecting samples for analysis until the absence of contamination is confirmed. The precautionary boil water notice will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours or until satisfactory analytical results confirm that the water is safe to drink. Notification will be made when the boil water notice is rescinded.
