Pinellas County Utilities receives award

Pinellas County’s Utilities Department has been selected by the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association (FSAWWA) as the recipient of the 2015 Water Distribution System Award for division seven, which is composed of water providers with 70,000 to 129,999 service connections.

This award provides recognition for exceptional potable water distribution systems in Florida.

“This award serves as a special recognition of the Pinellas County employees who work hard each day doing things to serve the public,” said Bob Powell, director of Pinellas County Utilities. “Our utilities employees are committed to setting the standard for potable water distribution in the state of Florida.”

The county will receive the award at an upcoming meeting of the Board of County Commissioners.
