IMPORTANT: Irrigation with reclaimed water suspended in north County until further notice

Important message for North Pinellas County reclaimed customers from Pinellas County Utilities:

Effective immediately, reclaimed water irrigation is not authorized on any day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

These restrictions are in addition to the current one day per week irrigation restriction which is based on your address.

Abnormal weather conditions and increased demand have caused reclaimed water levels to decline to the point of exhausting supply and threatening pumping infrastructure.

Pinellas County Utilities asks you to partner with us to protect your reclaimed water system. Once system levels return to normal, these added restrictions will be lifted. Pinellas County Utilities is working to assist customers in finding solutions to the issues with reclaimed water availability as we continue to experience unusually dry weather and historic demand.

Customers in North County may have noticed reclaimed service became unavailable ahead of the previously announced 8 a.m. service shutdown. This was the result of an extreme increase in usage which reduced water levels to the point of threatening pumping infrastructure. Crews shut the system down to prevent severe damage to equipment.

Customers in South County may notice periods of low pressure when irrigating using reclaimed water. This is the result of extreme demand at specific times of day. Pinellas County Utilities is asking customers to assist in alleviating the issue by considering altering the time of day they water.
