Working to Improve Water Quality in Lealman
A grant provided by the Tampa Bay Estuary Program has enabled Pinellas County to do some education work with the Lealman community. We hope to strengthen the community’s understanding of the link between trash and debris in ditches and roadways and reduced water quality.
On March 16, 2013 Pinellas County’s Watershed Management section and Keep Pinellas Beautiful partnered with a group of volunteers help clean up the Central Lealman Neighborhood. Items collected included furniture, small appliances, bottles cans and NUMEROUS cigarette butts. The Lealman Community Association generously provided lunch for all the hard working volunteers afterwards.
We will be doing it again it September and November! Please join us!
