Group leader's story

It was a beautiful Wednesday morning—sun was shining, breeze was blowing, critters were waking up at the Veteran’s Park. Today, Northside Christian School sent about 100 high school students to the park to serve the community and clean up. One group of students—about 9 girls—went to The Point-Shelter 5. The girls mostly found cigarette butts. However, as the girls continued toward the canoe launch, they found plastic bags and beer cans—for a total of 6 bags of garbage. The day couldn’t have been more beautiful. The girls met several people on bike rides enjoying the park, the scenery, the breeze, and the beauty. After all was said and done—the girls were able to lie in the sun, enjoying the park, and feeling good for a job well done—while dolphins frolicked in the water beside them.
